Who we are
Arkwell provides practical AI training and resources through arkwell.io and our members area, The Ark. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email contact@arkwell.io and a person will answer.
What we collect
Account details. Your name and email address when you create an account. Your password is handled by our authentication provider and stored in encrypted form. We never see it.
Your choices. Whether you want marketing emails from us. Your light or dark theme preference stays on your own device and is never sent to us.
Activity in the members area. Which lessons and resources you view, save or download, and roughly how long you spend on them, linked to your account. We use this to understand which topics you find useful.
What we do not collect. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not build analytics from your IP address, and we do not fingerprint your device. Our infrastructure providers keep standard security logs to run their services safely.
How we use it
To run your account and sign you in. To improve our content by seeing what members actually use. To point you towards material on topics you keep coming back to. To send you emails you have asked for.
Emails
We always send account emails such as verification codes and password resets, because the service does not work without them. Marketing emails, such as a note when new lessons land, are sent only if you opt in. You can switch them off any time from your account page or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
Who handles your data
We use a small number of providers to run Arkwell: Supabase for authentication, database and file storage, and Zoho Mail for sending email. They process data on our instructions. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever. When paid subscriptions launch, a payment provider will be added here before any payment is taken.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you want your account deleted, email contact@arkwell.io from your account address and we will erase your data from our live systems within 30 days.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, and withdraw consent for marketing at any time. Email us and we will sort it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and local storage
We use no advertising cookies. The only things stored in your browser are your sign-in session, so you stay logged in, and your theme preference.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell members by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
